Family Living Rosary: “Inang Maria, Pamilya’y Gabayan Tungo sa Kapayapaan”

FAMILY LIVING ROSARY

MOH-TIW which is named after Mary, shows its devotion to the Mother of God through the annual Family Living Rosary which was held on the first of October this year. The theme which is “Inang Maria, Pamilya’y gabayan tungo sa kapayaan” gives recognition to the role of Mary as mediator or intercessor for peace in the family and the world.

The event started with an input from Bro. Ike Abastillas, the resource speaker and a Salesian Cooperator, who stressed the value of praying as a family and reviving the tradition of praying the Holy Rosary together.

The different Salesian youth groups animated the praying of the rosary through a song or dance before each mystery. Before the prayer concluded, Mr. and Mrs. Ababon with their children crowned the statue of Mary for she is the Queen of Heaven and of Earth, and to express that she is also the Queen of our Families and we turn to her to guide us to attain peace.

This devotion to our Blessed Mother is continued through the month-long praying of the  Holy Rosary by the students in the school. A statue of Mary Help of Christians is also taken home by the students to their family, and before her image, the family prays the rosary, and entrusts the care and protection of the family to her motherly care.
